Tropical Wedding at Bali Hai

I am so blessed to have met Jacqueline and Ann. The couple was planning a San Diego wedding from Los Angeles and needed a local planner to help with the details. They had done a great job of selecting vendors to create a tropical paradise for their wedding. What I love most about this couple – besides their big personalities and love of laughter – is that they were concerned not so much with the look of the wedding, but about ensuring the wedding reflected their lives and their love for each other. By incorporating their three fur babies and their love of everything Muppets, this wedding could belong to no other couple than Jax and Ann. The perfect day was captured by Boffo Video.

Fall Military Wedding at North Chapel and Admiral Kidd Club

I just loved Megan and Ben’s fairy tale love story. Megan flew across the country to meet Ben on a blind date and the rest is history. Their Fall wedding reflected the colors of the season and highlighted San Diego for their out-of-town guests.016010

The altar of the North Chapel was filled with candle light and the aisle was lined with rose petals and candles hanging from shepherd’s hooks. 087 094

The ceremony was followed by a traditional military sword arch welcoming the bride to the military.

Wedding Envelopes 101

While many wedding formalities are becoming relaxed, addressing your wedding invitation envelopes is not one of them. Usually your wedding invitations will contain an inner envelope and an outer envelope.

8152447_origThe outer envelope should be addressed formally using guests’ full names and titles. Words in addresses should be spelled out, such as Avenue instead of Ave. The outer envelope should be addressed to both members of a married couple – for example, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. If one of the guests is a doctor, use the Dr. abbreviation for their title – for example, Dr. Anna Haney and Mr. Paul Collins.

When inviting an unmarried couple, living at the same address, use both guests’ names and titles, for example, Ms. Elizabeth Kline and Mr. Paul Tobin.

When inviting children, the outer envelope should be addressed to the parents – children will be listed on the inner envelope. Similarly, if a guest will be inviting a date, the outer envelope should be addressed to your guest only – the date will be added on the inner envelope.

The inner envelope is more casual and should include the names of everyone invited. For example, the inner envelope for Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and their son, Brad, would be addressed as Mr. and Mrs. Smith on the top line and Brad Smith on the next line. For a guest inviting a date, the inner envelope should be addressed to your guest and date, for example, Mr. Richard Ramsey and Guest.

When the inner envelope is inserted into the outer envelope, it should be unsealed with the names of the guests visible when the outer envelope is opened. All of your inserts, such as RSVP cards, will be inside the inner envelope, printed side up in order of size.

Colorful Cambodian Wedding Celebration at Bahia Resort

If you are planning two wedding ceremonies and a reception for one day, you definitely want your couple to be as sweet and easy-going as Marlina and Richard. This gorgeous couple wanted a traditional Cambodian wedding ceremony to honor the bride’s heritage as well as a Christian ceremony. San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-17

The day started with the Cambodian ceremony. The couple looked like royalty in their colorful and detailed silk clothing. In the Cambodian tradition, the groom processed with his family and friends to meet his bride with an offering of platters of fruits and desserts. Once the offering was accepted by the bride and her family, the ceremony continued with a ring exchange, multiple blessings and music. There were multiple outfit changes, each more elaborate and beautiful than the next. San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-22San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-14  San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-18San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-21San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-24 San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-33 San-Diego-Wedding-Photography-50After the Cambodian wedding ceremony, the couple began preparing for their Christian ceremony to take place at the pond and gazebo at the Bahia Resort. The ceremony included a unity sand ceremony along with the traditional vows and exchange of rings.
